A TrendLabs review · Chart-driven technical research across global markets · Free newsletter, $499/year to $5,000/year
In this TrendLabs review, we look at the new independent platform from JC Parets — founder of All Star Charts, one of the most widely cited technical analysts in financial media, and the CMT-credentialed strategist who spent over a decade building a research business trusted by hedge fund managers and retail investors alike before selling it and starting again from scratch.
Every platform we review goes through the same process:
- Instructor verification — trading history, qualifications, media presence and independently verifiable track record.
- Content review — methodology depth, format and practical applicability.
- Pricing and terms — full pricing structure, refund policy, recurring or hidden costs.
- Independent member feedback — cross-referenced across platforms outside the company’s own site.
- Community and support testing — response times and engagement quality, where access allows.
Trading outcomes depend on the individual trader. Our scores reflect the quality, credibility and value of the service itself, not a guarantee of results.
TrendLabs Review: Who’s Behind It
JC Parets earned his Chartered Market Technician designation in 2008 and built All Star Charts into one of the most respected technical research platforms in the US — covering US and international stocks, interest rates, commodities and forex with a top-down, intermarket framework that earned him a following among professional fund managers as well as retail traders. In March 2022, All Star Charts was acquired by TIFIN, a fintech platform backed by institutional investors. Parets remained involved following the sale, but in 2025 launched TrendLabs as his new independent operation — a clean slate and a return to the founder-led model he built the first time around.
His media presence is as broad as any technical analyst in the US: regular features on Bloomberg, CNBC, Fox Business, ABC, CNN and the Wall Street Journal, speaking engagements at Harvard, Duke, NYU, the University of Chicago and Hong Kong Baptist University, and recognition from the CMT Association as one of the most widely followed technical analysts in the world. Fox Business called him the King of Technicals. Business Insider listed him among the top financial people you have to follow. These are not self-styled labels — they come from outlets with editorial standards and audiences that would notice if the claims were unearned.

TrendLabs currently offers two paid research tiers alongside a free daily newsletter. The free newsletter, Everybody’s Wrong, is published daily and delivers JC’s chart commentary, contrarian market observations and actionable ideas with a directness and confidence that reflects someone who has been doing this publicly for over two decades. It is distributed in partnership with Paradigm Press and serves as a genuine sample of the research style rather than a marketing teaser.

The Divergence is the premium tier at $5,000 a year and is built around a specific research concept: identifying critical disconnects in the market before they resolve. Each week JC zeroes in on a price, momentum or macro divergence, explains the setup, and provides specific trade ideas to capitalise on it. Members get buy and sell alerts, a weekly chatroom and livestream with JC, a model portfolio and a four-part video training series covering the methodology.
The Primary Trend at $499 a year is the broader-market tier, designed for investors who want to stay on the right side of major moves without active trading or complex strategies. It covers high-conviction trends, big-picture forecasts, simple setups and straightforward opportunities, with monthly chatroom and livestream access, buy and sell alerts, and a model portfolio. At $499 a year it is among the more accessible price points for research from an analyst of JC’s standing.
Cost and Value
The Primary Trend at $499 a year represents strong value for an analyst with JC’s credentials and media reach — comparable services from less credentialed providers typically cost considerably more. The Divergence at $5,000 a year is a different conversation: it is premium-priced relative to most of the services reviewed here, but positioned for traders who are deploying meaningful capital and for whom the cost of research is a small fraction of the value of getting a significant trade right. Neither tier has a trial option listed on the products page, which means the free Everybody’s Wrong newsletter is the main evaluation tool before committing. Given its quality, that is a reasonable entry point.
TrendLabs is also a relatively new venture — launched in 2025 — which means the platform is still establishing its track record under this specific brand, even if JC’s broader body of work is well-documented. That is worth factoring in as context, not as a red flag.
Community and Ongoing Support
Both paid tiers include chatroom and livestream access with JC personally — monthly for Primary Trend members, weekly for Divergence members. That level of direct access at the Primary Trend price point is notable. The model portfolios across both tiers provide an ongoing, transparent record of how the research translates into positions rather than just ideas. The newsletter generates active engagement and JC is a frequent, direct voice on social media where the Everybody’s Wrong tone extends beyond the newsletter itself.
The platform is at an earlier stage of community development than some of the more established services in this series, which is simply a reflection of its age rather than an indication of intent or quality.
Things to Know Before Joining
TrendLabs is a research and analysis service rather than a live trading room or signals platform. The methodology is technical and top-down — traders looking for options-specific strategies, futures signals or intraday setups will find the scope narrower than they need. The Divergence tier requires both a meaningful budget and the ability to act on weekly research rather than real-time alerts. And as noted, the platform is new: the track record under the TrendLabs brand is still being established, even if JC’s longer history at All Star Charts is a reasonable proxy for research quality.
TrendLabs Review: Who It Suits
Technical traders and investors who want chart-driven, intermarket research from one of the most credentialed and widely recognised technical analysts in the US, at two clearly differentiated price points depending on how actively they want to trade the ideas. The breakdown below covers fit by style in more detail.
| Technical Analysts | Strong Fit | JC’s entire methodology is chart-driven — price, momentum, relative strength and intermarket relationships are the core toolkit. Technical traders will find a rigorous, experienced application of the discipline. |
| Top-Down Investors | Strong Fit | The macro-to-sector-to-stock top-down framework is central to how JC approaches markets — well suited to traders and investors who think about context before picking individual names. |
| US & Global Equities | Strong Fit | Coverage spans US and international stocks, with sector rotation and relative strength analysis across global markets — broader than most single-market services. |
| Multi-Asset Traders | Strong Fit | Intermarket analysis across bonds, commodities, currencies and equities is a hallmark of JC’s approach — suitable for traders who want a joined-up view across asset classes. |
| Longer-Term Investors | Strong Fit | The Primary Trend service is explicitly designed for investors who want to stay on the right side of major moves without active trading — high-conviction trends and simple setups at $499 a year. |
| Active Swing Traders | Acceptable | The Divergence service provides weekly setups and alerts with a chatroom — suitable for active traders, though this is a research service rather than a live trading room. |
| Day Traders / Scalpers | Not the Focus | JC’s methodology operates across weekly and monthly timeframes — intraday traders will find little that applies directly to short-window setups. |
| Crypto-Only Traders | Not the Focus | Crypto is covered as part of the broader intermarket picture but is not a dedicated focus — traders looking for crypto-specific research should look elsewhere. |
